My specialisation in software engineering was a logical decision, as engineering combines the rational, problem solving side of my brain with my more creative side. It is a constant eye-opener. Being involved in the field of tech means exposure not only to incredible, new technologies and a rapidly changing environment, but also exposure to other like-minded and quirky individuals. Software provides me with a refreshing group of peers, where individuality is forefront.

Physics is something I have long been passionate about. I have always loved being able to understand things on a conceptual level, to explain why things work the way they do. Being able to apply knowledge from one area to another is one of the aspects I love the most about physics. Orbital patterns of the planets in our solar system follow the same fundamental laws of physics that define the movement of rotating bodies on Earth. The areas within physics that fascinate me are largely centered around astrophysics; black holes, dark matter and other such mysteries. I am awe of modern day phenomena like LIGO, the gravitational wave detector and CERN, the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva.
